Wet snow and some loose wet instability on Tallac.

Toured Mt. Tallac from standard ascent ridge, around west side of summit, descending Cathedral Bowl and traversing back to base of standard ascent ridge. Along the way we found signs of the best snow surface refreeze to have occurred in the past several days, especially above 8,000'. Supportable snow conditions existed on E-SE aspects above 8,000' upon departure to lower elevations at 12:45 pm. Traveling below 8,000' from 12:45 to 1:30 pm supportability varied by aspect with open NE aspects maintaining skier supportability while E-SE aspects at that time were marginally supportable to unsupportable. A small (D1) skier triggered loose wet avalanche occurred around 1 pm on a moderately steep SE aspect in below treeline terrain at ~7,100'. Exiting the last NE aspect from ~6,800' down to ~6,400' around 1:30 pm remained skier supportable.
