Loose Wet Activity on Castle Peak

Rapid warming occurring through the morning/day with full sun and light NW winds at higher elevations.  Sections of firm snow existed on the upper W face to the peak where ski crampons were used.  N/NW aspects had some soft unconsolidated snow along with a variety of crusts both breakable and supportable.  E-SE-S aspects warmed quickly this morning with good supportable spring snow on E and S aspects at 10am.  By 10:30am E aspects were soft and punchy with roller balls and small loose wet activity in steeper terrain.  Slow and sticky snow existed on most aspects by 12 noon.
