Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

We toured Galena Ridge, a.k.a. Windy Ridge, starting around 1115. A lot of blowing snow. We dug a quick pit on the north side just a bit below the ridge summit. There was an obvious layer 40 cm from the surface. A column test revealed a sudden fracture on the second tap on that layer.

We didn't see any other sides of instability on our tour or climb. But we definitely stuck to low-angle terrain.
