Castle Peak Ridge-line Snow Pit

Started around 9:00am; wind at the trailhead was SW with moderate snowfall. Traveled towards the Castle Peak saddle and observed moderate snowfall with winds swirling in the Castle Peak basin, average snow depth @ 7500 just off trail was 110-120cm (28 degrees). Saddle was very gusty with signs of heavy wind loading on E - SE aspects. We observed cornices on the Andesite ridge-line and many along the Castle Peak ridge-line. We dug our test pit as noted in the attachment. Surprised to see only 125cm of snow but I'm sure wind was the culprit.
