West of Quail Face

There was lighter than expected winds for the day and warm surface snow in the afternoon. The 2cm wind blown surface crust, skied better than expected. Though we were at a lower elevation, the slope tested had near treeline characteristics. There is 11cm of near surface facets between the Jan 1 and Dec 12 rain crust. We conducted several other stability tests in the area that showed similar, or greater, reactivity on Jan 1 rain crust.
