Stabilizing snow

Toured up Castle peak, descended Eastern most gully of North Aspect on windboard of varying hardness. No fracturing of surface layer at top and skied firm to shaveable dense top layer to bottom. Ascended NE-E aspect of peak to upper slope and tree pockets. Small surface slabs were possible to break stamping out a space to convert at upper end of slope. Descended open snowfield to the main gully on 2-4 inches of carveable wind deposited snow. No signs of instability on ski descent. Deposits of snow have grown on this slope with wind and recent snowfall increasing depth of dense layers above the PWL dec11. Skier weight only penetrating into wind deposit from yesterday.  

Rain crust layer is visible in varying locations from wind scouring. Rain crust is breakable, 1" max, with soft snow underneath.  No movement between layers is possible on this interface.  

Many obstacles and hazards still present.
