Iron Mountain Snowpit

Dug a pit at Iron Mountain today (11:30am, 7350', Clear, no wind, 28 degree slope, above freezing), and tried my hand at a Deep Tap Test and an Extended Column Test, along with the usual compression test, this time on a west facing slope I wanted to ride down.

My main goal was to continue testing the PWL, along with the stability of the recent storm snow. 

The PWL felt a bit stiffer to the fist/4 finger poke and appears to have begun healing, it is still, however, not confidence inspiring.

My initial test was the Compression Test, which only showed a couple CTH/RP results in the top layer of storm snow, there was no result in the PWL with the compression test.

From there I tried my first DTT, which I'm not 100% sure I did right, you can see my process in the included video.  The DTT ended with no result as I was unable to disturb the PWL.

After that I tried my first ECT, which produced a few ECTN results in the top most layer of storm snow, but no propogating fractures during the test.  It wasn't until I started assaulting the snow violently that I got a full fracture across the upper most rain crust, well beyond the parameters of the test.  Still no result in the PWL
